Obituary for Michael Kevin Verwers

Michael “Kevin” Verwers passed away at UK Medical Center on June 13, 2018 in Lexington, KY due to heart complications. He was 62 years old.

Kevin was born on December 27, 1955 in Eldorado to the late Cornie and Shirley Verwers. He was a 1974 graduate of Eldorado High School. He grew up attending Eldorado Gospel Assembly Church.

He moved to Paducah, KY and married Lecia M. Howle in 1977. They were married and attended Gospel Assembly Church in Paducah. In 1992 they moved to Metropolis, IL where they reside now.

Kevin and his wife drove most Sunday's to attend New Life Fellowship Church in Cross Plains, TN where they were faithful members. They enjoyed the fellowship of many beloved friends.

Kevin “Clean Shirt” was a 35 year member of the Plumbers and Steamfitter local 184. He retired in 2016 where he dedicated his remaining time to his family and grandchildren.

Kevin is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lecia M. Verwers, his 2 daughters: Jennifer (Jose) Lopez and Audrey (Charlie) Stevenson. Seven grandchildren: Kaileigh, Jaden, Brody, Oliver, Skylar, Penelope and Myla. One brother Brent Verwers and a sister Sharon Ellis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Ron Verwers.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado. Burial will be in Lindale Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until service time of 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
