History

 

Jerry D. Watson has been in the funeral business in Eldorado as the owner and operator of Watson Funeral Home since March, 1974. Sean D. Watson joined the family firm in 1990 after his graduation from SIU College of Mortuary Science. Jerry and his wife, Cindy, bought the funeral from Louis & Vivian Rodgers in March of 1974. There are 4 full time and 2 part time staff members.

 

Watson Funeral Home serves the people of the area with the best possible services. They offer funeral services of both the traditional, and cremation services. They offer pre-arrangement of funerals with price guarantee, and insurance services including life and health. As a funeral director, Jerry sees the great need for life insurance more than most people and desire to help you meet your life insurance needs to protect your family financially. Jerry and Sean are Illinois licensed for life and health insurance.

 

Jerry and Cindy see the beautiful Southern Illinois scenery and our people as top among our resources. They operate Watson Farms, which is a breeding and showing operation of Tennessee walking horses. They are members of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders and Exhibitions Association, and Walking Horse Owners Association. Sean serves on the Eldorado Volunteer Fire Department.

 

Watson Funeral Home is a member of the Quad County Funeral Directors Association and Cindy is an active member of the Eldorado Garden Study Club.

 

Marci Watson, Sean’s wife, joined the family business in 2000. Cindy and Marci are active in G.G.S. Sean and Jerry are active members of Eldorado Men’s Club.

 

Sean and Marci own and operate Watson Monument Company, serving clients through the funeral home.
